HIGHER
LEVEL OF CONFIDENCE
The principle factor that prevents
many high potential people from maximizing their career opportunities
is not a lack of ability. The limiting factor is self-confidence.
With greater self-assurance, individuals have increased capacity
to make firm, clear-cut decisions with less fear of making errors
and are more interested in assuming additional responsibilities.
They can analyze situations effectively and are more capable of
presenting their ideas on controversial issues. The "take
charge" attitude that develops means they are able to perform
with added effectiveness in difficult situations.
Confident people are more innovative in their approach to problems, more assertive in confronting poor performers and delegate with greater ease.
COMMUNICATION
SKILLS
Dale Carnegie Training has developed
some remarkably effective methods that enable people to express
themselves with clarity, forcefulness and the enthusiasm necessary
to inspire others. The program enhances presentation techniques
as class members develop comfort and poise in speaking to groups,
learn how to effectively convey technical information and give
demonstrations skillfully. Communications are more accurate with
fewer misunderstandings; presentations more interesting and informative.
Individuals become better "salespeople" of themselves,
their ideas and their products.
MORE POSITIVE
ATTITUDE
Dale Carnegie Training instills
a positive attitude in class members. Individuals become comfortable
demonstrating their enthusiasm for ideas and are less susceptible
to the negative comments of others. They also become familiar
with ways of sustaining their excitement for long-term projects.
Graduates demonstrate increased capacity to act as a catalyst
and convey their enthusiasm to others.
MOTIVATIONAL
SKILLS
Class members become increasingly
insightful regarding why people behave as they do. There is a
greater sensitivity toward others and it results in a warmer,
more relaxed climate in dealing with people. The program provides
a wide range of techniques to gain willing cooperation from others
and to influence attitudes without causing offense.
Graduates become more comfortable and adept at giving feedback and motivating people through positive reinforcement. The bottom line is that those who have been drivers, become leaders; others, become more assertive and start to truly manage the human resources for which they are responsible.
STRESS
MANAGEMENT
To assist participants in handling
their present challenges and assuming new responsibilities without
undue tension or anxiety, a key component of the program is stress
management. By putting into practice a number of sound worry control
principles, class members learn how to keep problems in perspective.
Developing the ability to keep business and personal life separate,
results in improved job performance and peace of mind. People
find they have greater resiliency in handling occasional set backs
so that when they do occur, tempers do not flare or motivation
is not lost.
GOAL SETTING
Establishing a groundwork for
success begins the process of leading a more intentional life.
Participants define the person that they want to become, both
personally and professionally. As a result, goal setting takes
on a new meaning. Classmembers examine their strengths and identify
problem areas for improvements.
MORE CREATIVE
SOLUTIONS
Imagination and creativity are
too often stifled by doubts, fear and critical thinking. As confidence
levels are increased, there is more "green light" thinking
and a greater willingness to innovate. Participants develop a
disposition to accept and try new ideas. The result is that the
people closest to problems are more likely to come up with solutions.
TEAM WORK
With greater skills in handling
people and a more open-minded attitude, class members are better
able to develop a spirit of "teamwork" among co-workers.
They listen more profitably, are more apt to cushion disagreeable
points and are more successful in convincing others to have faith
in them. The net effect is reduced friction and a greater willingness
to cooperate and resolve differences of opinion by "workable"
compromises.
CLASS
COMPOSITION AND SIZE
Class size is approximately 40
people. The men and women who participate represent a wide range
of positions, industries, and organizations so there is a healthy
mix of ideas. Frequently, a company sponsors several individuals
into the same course as it acts as a team-building device.
INSTRUCTIONAL
TEAM
The instructional team consists
of a minimum of one instructor and 3-5 graduate assistants. Instructors
are full-time Carnegie careerists
or individuals who hold professional positions, have a minimum
of a baccalaureate degree, and have successfully completed the
Dale Carnegie Instructors Training Conference (this includes 120
hours of specialized training after completing a minimum of 100
hours of classroom experience as an assistant.) Annually, they
participate in a 12 hour "refresher" program to maintain
instructor status.
INVESTMENT
AND GUARANTEE
Total cost of the 12 week training program
is $1495, which includes books and all supplies. If five or more
employees from a single organization enroll at the same time,
a discounted price of $1395 per participant will be charged. Upon
completion of the entire course, if an individual or their sponsoring
organization is not satisfied, the participant will be retrained,
another person trained free of charge, or tuition reimbursed in
full.
HIGH DEGREE
OF APPLICATION
Class atmosphere is exciting
and encouraging. Participants acquire meaningful, practical skills.
Application in business and social circumstances is immediate
and easy.
TAX DEDUCTABLE
The full cost is permitted as
a personal income tax deduction by the Federal Government.
TRANSFER PRIVILEGE
If a class member moves or is
transferred, the program may be completed at any Dale Carnegie
facility without further charge.
PROGRAM
FLEXIBILITY
If a class is missed, the person
will be contacted and brought up to date. Missed sessions can
be attended with another class at no additional charge.
ACCREDITATION
Attendance and satisfactory participation
in a minimum of 10 sessions earn 4.2 validated CN-CEU's. This
program is recognized by the
American Council on Education (ACE). Their catalogue recommends 3 lower baccalaureate credit hours in Oral Communication.
The program is composed of an Orientation plus twelve weekly sessions, 4 hours in length. There is one meeting per week, which begins at 6:00 p.m.
Ralph Nichols Group, which is the licensed sponsor of Dale Carnegie Training in southeast Michigan regularly holds classes in Ann Arbor, E. Lansing, Farmington Hills, Grand Rapids, Jackson, Kalamazoo, Livonia and Troy. Programs in other locations and on-site corporate classes can also be arranged.
